SENTINEL Print Pack S/6 host connectivity software allows enterprise wide label printing and management from one central location. This advanced label print server application enables you to print labels and documents from non-Windows™ platforms. It is a middleware application that runs on Windows™ NT/2000/2003/2008 and easily integrates into virtually any ERP, MRP II or WMS system - allowing data from a host application to be merged with a label designed with CODESOFT software.

	1. Your Host or System Creates a Data File The data file serves two purposes: it includes the variable information for bar codes labels and it initiates the request to SENTINEL Data files can be reports, printer code, structured data (XML), ASCII data or redirected printer output..


	2. SENTINEL “watches” for the Data SENTINEL Print Pack S/6 receives data by watching a directory or printer queue for files/data sent there from the host.

	3. SENTINEL processes the Data SENTINEL maps the data to a label design based on a pre-defined configuration.

	4. SENTINEL prints the Label Using the CODESOFT™ print engine, labels can be printed to any thermal or Windows printer.





	The application consists of three independent modules, connected to a kernel application. The kernel is the core application that handles the print requests and manages the communications between each module. This kernel application runs as an NT service, providing security to the entire system.

Sentinel-Manager

The Sentinel Manager allows you to create, configure and manage the sentinels that will analyze your data files. It also allows you to select printers. An integrated wizard guides you through the sentinel creation process..

Sentinel-Controller

Designed specifically for the IT Manager, the Sentinel Controller allows you to view sentinel status, enable or disable individual sentinels and display the printing and error log files.

Mapper

The Mapper allows you to create and configure map files, which will be used for analyzing your data files. A map file describes the structure of the data files for analysis and assigns the mapped data to the corresponding variables in the label document.

The Mapper uses a wizard to take you through the map process step-by-step to ensure that your data conversion is an easy and successful process..
